Equipment / Necessities

  • Three sets of hunting clothes (Tan/Green Khaki preferred) – NO camo when hunting in Zimbabwe
  • Light rainjacket (it does not rain often, but when it does it rains hard)
  • Light jacket for chilly mornings
  • Hat that will sufficiently cover head and neck
  • Thick and comfortable socks
  • Well worn walking boots
  • Ankle gaiters (short ankle coverings)
  • Camp shoes or slippers
  • Odorless sunscreen (minimum SPF of 20)
  • Personal medication(s)
  • 220v chargers (110v to 220v converter for U.S. Customers)
  • Binoculars (optional)
  • Insect repellent is advised (September – April)
  • Sunglasses
  • Backpack/Fanny pack for camera or other items needed in the bush

  • Passport (Must be valid for 6 months after your planned return date)
  • Visa – Not required for those traveling on a US Passport
  • Invitation letter from your hunting outfitter
  • Address and phone numbers for Sunguti Safaris
  • Personal Medical Records
  • Travel Insurance – Recommended
  • Emergency Contact Information

While Sunguti Safari’s proudly offers a daily rate for renting our hunting rifles, you, as the hunter do have the option of bringing your own personal rifle with you. There are requirements and costs associated to do so with the Republic of South Africa (RSA), and we can provide guidance on who to contact and what forms you’ll need to fill out.
